What originally started as a made-up holiday by fictional character Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreationhas quickly grow in popularity over the last decade or so.
On the show, the original idea behind Galentine’s Day was to leave boyfriends and husbands at home on February 13th (Valentine’s Day Eve) and gather around the table for brunch with lady friends. The holiday has become quite popular, and for good reason! Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to show love and appreciation for the women in your life, the lady friends who stick with you through everything and support you no matter what. Plus, who doesn’t love brunch?
