Our Farms

We are committed to doing what is best for our employees and the environment because we believe that creating beautiful flowers means respecting the land that we grow them on.. Environmental practices are taken very seriously and we’re proud of achieving the Rainforest Alliance Certification as of 2010 and Huella de Carbono in 2018.

Rainforest Alliance Certified™

All of Sunshine’s farms are Rainforest Alliance Certified™.  By working with the Rainforest Alliance, we ensure our customers that we’re promoting decent wages for employees, practicing sustainable farming methods, protecting forests and wildlife, and investing in education, health, and infrastructure.

Environmental Responsibility

We’re constantly taking measures to guarantee ecological responsibility and conserve biodiversity. These measures include soil conservation, waste reduction, and ecosystem preservation. Below are some of the ways in which we ensure we’re adhering to the strictest environmental farming standards.

Our facilities use environmentally friendly coolants and equipment. We also plant native species that efficiently capture C02 in order to reduce our carbon footprint.

We reduce water consumption by collecting and storing rain water with our system of reservoirs.

We use zero category 1 chemicals and pesticides that could potentially harm endangered species and pollinators .

We use natural biological controls, such as mites, rather than harmful pesticides to isolate predators. This is better for the environment and the flowers!

We reduce water consumption by collecting and storing rain water with our system of reservoirs.

Composting and recycling takes place at all of our farms and facilities. We constantly train our employees on proper recycling practices.
