[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8637″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]This month we’re crushing on the queen of flowers, the Rose! With over 300 species available in almost every color imaginable, this versatile flower is a universal favorite among designers and amateurs alike.

Roses are categorized into different types:

  • Hybrid Tea rose: composed of a single blossom 1 to 3 inches, opening up to about 5 inches. Stems can be up to 40 inches in length!
  • Spray rose: These are beautiful clusters of smaller roses that branch from a single stem. Heads are typically ½ inch to 1 inch long, opening up to 3 inches.
  • Sweetheart rose: Similar to spray roses, the heads are ½ inch to 1 inch long, but are single blossoms.

Roses have been around for millions of years (over 35 million years to be exact). The most popular flower in the world, roses are viewed as a symbol of love, affection, and passion.

You may be familiar with the use of roses for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and as a popular flower of choice for corsages and wedding celebrations. But it doesn’t stop there – roses can work for a wide variety of special occasions and pair well with many different flowers.

Some of our favorite choices of flowers to liven up your roses include sunflowers, snapdragons, calla lilies, oriental lilies, ranunculus and chrysanthemums. At Sunshine Bouquet, we grow over 90 varieties of roses and love to experiment in our designs — a little creativity can go a long way! Since roses come in so many shapes, sizes and colors, pairing roses with different flowers and even other rose varieties can make for a beautiful floral creation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
